Effective July 7, 2015, NWS will implement changes to the icons depicted on all of its Point Forecast pages. Highlights will include new icons with increased clarity, 6-hour increments for rapidly changing weather and new color blocks to highlight forecast hazards.

Severe weather and flash flooding possible Saturday

Severe weather is possible across portions of the Great Plains, Deep South and coastal Carolinas Saturday. Primary threats are large hail and damaging winds, although a small tornado risk is also possible mainly in the Plains. Also across the South, heavy rainfall could lead to localized flash flooding.
