Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain for portions of the southern U.S.
A storm system will produce scattered severe thunderstorms and locally heavy rain stretching from the Southern Plains to the Gulf Coast and lower Miss. Valley on Friday. Large hail, locally damaging winds and flash flooding will be the main threats. This activity will continue into Saturday.
