Severe thunderstorms forecast this evening into tonight

Scattered severe storms with wind and hail will occur this evening and tonight from the central Plains east-northeast to southern Lake Michigan. A cluster of severe storms is possible over the Black Hills region, and more isolated wind and hail storms may occur over interior portions of the Pacific Northwest.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Breezy, with a southwest wind 14 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
