Sunday: New England remains cool and wet as the Northern Plains prepares for the next round of severe weather

The Northeast will be cool on Sunday with many locations being 10 to 20 degrees below normal. New England will mostly be wet with rain likely; however, the higher elevations in New England will see accumulating snowfall. Scattered thunderstorms are in the forecast for the Northern Plains, some of which could be severe.

Today Sunny, with a high near 67. Calm wind becoming north 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight Mostly clear, with a low around 39. Northeast wind 3 to 5 mph.

Memorial Day Mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Light south wind.

Monday Night A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 54. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 82. Light southeast wind becoming south 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
