Heavy Rain and a Few Severe Thunderstorms Across Nation's Mid-Section Wednesday

A slow-moving front will bring multiple rounds of thunderstorms across parts of the Missouri River Valley into the Mid-Mississippi and the Tennessee River Valleys through Wednesday night. Local flooding from the heavy rains can be expected in some areas, so Flash Flood Watches are in effect. In addition, some of the stronger storms may produce damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes.

Synopsis: ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY MORNING THEN CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE GENERAL FLOW WILL BE MODERATE TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. LIGHT TO MODERATE SOUTH TO SOUTHEAST FLOW DURING THE END OF THE WEEK WILL INCREASE TO MODERATE LEVELS OVER THE WEEKEND. ADDITIONAL CHANCES FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR OVER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND AS WELL...BEFORE DRY AIR RETURNS TO THE REGION EARLY NEXT WEEK.
