Severe weather possible across parts of Gulf Coast

The NWS Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a risk of severe thunderstorms Tuesday across the central and eastern Gulf Coast. Locally-damaging wind and large hail will be the main threats, with isolated tornadoes possible as well.

Synopsis: A COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS COASTAL WATERS THIS MORNING AND RESULT IN STRONG OFFSHORE FLOW. ISOLATED SHOWERS MAY OCCUR EARLY THIS MORNING ALONG THE FRONT. AS AN UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER NORTH TEXAS MOVES EAST...A SECONDARY SURGE OF SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE WILL MAINTAIN STRONG OFFSHORE FLOW TONIGHT THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY. ONSHORE FLOW WILL GRADUALLY RETURN BY THURSDAY EVENING...WITH WEAK TO MODERATE FLOW CONTINUING THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK.
