Hot weather continues for the Pacific Northwest and Great Basin; monsoonal moisture establishing over the Southwest

Across the western U.S., excessive heat will continue with widespread 100-plus degree temperatures for the lower elevations of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, and California through midweek. Across the Desert Southwest, normal hot temperatures will be present through the week. Increasing moisture from the monsoon will make it feel more humid as well as aid in thunderstorm development.
