Severe weather, heavy rainfall and unseasonably cold temperatures create a mixed bag of unsettled weather across the US this weekend.

Severe weather is possible across portions of the central and northern Plains today. Large hail and damaging winds will be the primary threats. Elsewhere, a wet and unseasonably cold weekend is expected for the Northeast, showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rains are possible for portions of the Plains and Mississippi Valley and unsettled weather continues in the Pacific Northwest.
