Active Weather Pattern for the West into the Plains

A strong Pacific storm continues to track across the Great Basin. Heavy snow is expected across the higher elevations and heavy rain across lower terrain. Strong gusty winds will make for additional hazards for travelers. These winds will bring increasing fire weather concerns for the southern High Plains. Monday: Rain, possibly mixed with snow showers, becoming all rain after 11am. Some thunder is also possible. High near 53. West wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 11pm, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. West wind 8 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
