More flooding possible across the Great Plains

Ample moisture remains in place and will result in heavy rainfall over parts of the central and southern Plains for the next few days. River and flash flooding will continue to be concerns as these areas will see the potential for 3 to 7 inches of additional rainfall accumulations going into the weekend.

Synopsis: AT 1 AM...A 1021 MB HIGH WAS ABOUT 1080 NM WEST OF SAN DIEGO AND A 1005 MB LOW WAS NEAR NEEDLES. A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING OVER THE REGION WILL BRING THE POSSIBILITY OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS THIS MORNING. WEAK TO MODERATE ONSHORE FLOW WILL PREVAIL THROUGH TUESDAY WITH FRESH BREEZES IN THE OUTER WATERS NEAR SAN CLEMENTE ISLAND DURING THE AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS.
