Severe Weather Threat Will Continue Sunday Across Much of the Central U.S.

Another round of severe thunderstorms is forecast for parts of the central U.S. today into tonight. The area of greatest risk extends from central Okla. into eastern Kan., western Mo. and southeast Neb. where very large hail and a few strong tornadoes are possible. Today Scattered snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Partly sunny, with a high near 39. West northwest wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 50%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around an inch possible.

Tonight Scattered snow showers, mainly before midnight. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Northwest wind 13 to 18 mph decreasing to 7 to 12 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Monday A 20 percent chance of snow showers. Some thunder is also possible. Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. North northwest wind 7 to 17 mph.
