NOAA Predicts Active 2013 Atlantic Hurricane Season

NOAA issued its 2013 Atlantic hurricane season outlook on Thursday, predicting an active Atlantic hurricane season. The 2013 Atlantic hurricane season has a 70% likelihood of 13-20 named storms, of which 7-11 could become hurricanes, including 3-6 major hurricanes. NOAA's seasonal hurricane outlook does not predict how many storms will hit land or where a storm will strike.

ACROSS THE OUTER WATERS...STRONG NW FLOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGH TONIGHT. MODERATE NW WINDS AND STEEP SEAS WILL CONTINUE OVER THE OUTER WATERS THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

Tonight: NNW wind 15 to 20 kt decreasing to 5 to 10 kt in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 30 kt. Partly cloudy. Mixed swell...W 4 ft at 9 seconds and SSW 2 ft at 17 seconds. Wind waves 5 ft subsiding to 1 ft.

Friday: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Sunny. Mixed swell...W 3 ft at 9 seconds and SSW 3 ft at 17 seconds. Wind waves around 1 ft.

Friday Night: WNW wind 10 to 15 kt. Increasing clouds. Mixed swell...W 1 to 4 ft at 8 seconds and SSW 2 ft at 16 seconds. Wind waves 1 to 2 ft.

Saturday: Variable winds 5 kt or less. Patchy fog before 11am. Mixed swell...W 2 ft and SSW 2 ft. Wind waves around 1 ft.
