Effective July 7, 2015, NWS will implement changes to the icons depicted on all of its Point Forecast pages. Highlights will include new icons with increased clarity, 6-hour increments for rapidly changing weather and new color blocks to highlight forecast hazards.

Another day of heavy rain and thunderstorms for the East Coast on Tuesday

The Southeast, Mid-Atlantic and Northeast U.S. will experience another day of numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some areas have already seen heavy rainfall over the past day and this will also contribute to flooding problems. Some of the thunderstorms in the Southeast could be strong. Severe thunderstorms and widespread rain are also expected for the Northern Plains on Tuesday.
