Effective July 7, 2015, NWS will implement changes to the icons depicted on all of its Point Forecast pages. Highlights will include new icons with increased clarity, 6-hour increments for rapidly changing weather and new color blocks to highlight forecast hazards.

Break the Grip of the Rip!

As temperatures continue to warm and visits to the beach increase, here's a reminder about staying safe and avoiding getting caught in a rip current. Only swim at beaches with lifeguards, know how to swim and have a flotation device, know how to spot a rip current and what to do if you are caught in one.
