Effective July 7, 2015, NWS will implement changes to the icons depicted on all of its Point Forecast pages. Highlights will include new icons with increased clarity, 6-hour increments for rapidly changing weather and new color blocks to highlight forecast hazards.

Severe weather possible across parts of Plains, Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic to New England

The NWS Storm Prediction Center is forecasting a risk of severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening across parts of the central and southern Plains, the Ohio Valley and the mid-Atlantic into New England. Damaging winds and large hail will be the main threats, with an isolated risk of tornadoes across parts of the central and southern Plains.
