Colder temperatures return to the central and eastern U.S.

Rain showers behind a cold front will make for a wet Friday for most of the Mid-Atlantic and parts of the Northeast and Southeast. Strong thunderstorms with damaging winds are possible in the southern half of Florida. The front will usher in below-normal temperatures for the eastern half of the country by Saturday. Snow showers are possible in parts of the Great Lakes and Northeast on Friday.
