At 341 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a thunderstorm with torrential rainfall 4 miles north of Hendersonville, or near Mountain Home. This storm was nearly stationary. Locations to be impacted include... Hendersonville, Mills River, Fletcher, Mountain Home, Laurel Park, Asheville Airport, Flat Rock, Valley Hill, Horse Shoe, and East Flat Rock. Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas. This storm may produce localized flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly.
