Widespread strong winds over the region today will taper off between sunset and midnight. Locations along the east slopes of the central mountain chain will likely see breezy west winds continue for the entire night. West to northwest winds Sunday will remain breezy along the central mountain chain with a focus from near Las Vegas to Clines Corners and Vaughn. Critical fire weather may occur for several hours however confidence is too low to upgrade the Fire Weather Watch at this time. A transition to lighter winds, higher relative humidity, and warmer temperatures is expected Monday through Thursday. Parts of far eastern NM and the northeast plains may see wetting rainfall from showers and storms beginning Tuesday.
