An influx of moisture to the eastern plains overnight may give rise to a storm or two across the southern high terrain on Wednesday. Coverage of storms will increase on Thursday across the high terrain of northern and central New Mexico but due to starved moisture, most will trend drier, leading to the threat of dry lighting and subsequent fire starts. Moisture quality and coverage of storms will increase into the weekend. Outside of thunderstorm gusts, winds will trend on the lighter side through the end of the week. Better humidity will favor eastern New Mexico, while areas across the Rio Grande Valley and westward still see minimum values in the low double to single digits. Humidity will improve areawide by early next week.
