Locally critical fire weather conditions are possible across northeast and east central areas this afternoon due to hot, dry and unstable conditions. After a break in winds Wednesday, west winds increase Thursday peaking Saturday due to a disturbance moving through the region. This will result in the potential for widespread critical fire weather conditions, especially on Saturday. Several hours of single digit relative humidity values are expected across south central areas. Higher moisture moves into eastern areas along with lighter winds areawide early next week putting an end to critical fire weather concerns.
