At 1054 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Oasis State Park, or 7 miles northeast of Portales, moving southeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Tornado and two inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
