.DISCUSSION...

There is a 30-60 percent chance for showers and sub-severe storms
today with highest chances over eastern SD and western MN in the
late morning to early afternoon hours. Most locations will receive
less than a tenth of an inch of precipitation.

Winds will increase out of the west-northwest during the day
Wednesday with gusts of 40 to 50 mph possible. The strongest gusts
are expected over central SD. Afternoon RH values are expected to
drop below 30 percent west of the James River. This will also be the
case Thursday, with slightly weaker winds.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Wednesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.
