...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam is possible.

* WHERE...Yukon River in the Yukon Delta.

* WHEN...Through Saturday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Ice jams may result in flooding along the Yukon River
  over the Yukon Delta. Low lying areas near Kotlik have potential
  to flood from through Saturday. If an ice jam shifts water
  could rise rapidly.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The Yukon River breakup is pushing across the Yukon Delta.
    Ice has jammed up near Kotlik with high water on the river
    but no flooding was reported in Kotlik. There is still a risk
    of flooding at Kotlik should the ice shift and push water
    towards the town.

...FLOOD WATCH FOR SNOWMELT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt continues to be possible.

* WHERE...The Porcupine River at Ft Yukon, including the city of
  Fort Yukon.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of sloughs and other low-lying and flood-prone
  locations near Fort Yukon. High water is now moving into low lying
  areas on the east side of Fort Yukon, with possible flooding in
  Fort Yukon developing over the weekend. This will be a slow-onset
  flood, with the water slow to recede as well.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - High water on the Porcupine River has reached Fort Yukon, and
    is now causing the Sucker River to back up into low-lying
    areas on the east side of town and has flooded some roads
    east of Fort Yukon. Water will slowly fill these low lying
    areas
    then spread west through the swales towards the airport and
    Ft Yukon. If the water gets high enough flooding could begin
    in Fort Yukon over the weekend, then slowly recede next week.
    There is potential for this event to be very similar to
    flooding of last year; however water levels on the Yukon
    River are not nearly as high as last year which
    could mitigate the situation.

  - Please stay tuned to NOAA weather radio or your favorite local
  weather news source for updates on this situation.
  - If you live in low lying areas in Fort Yukon stay alert and be
  prepared to take action.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding in Fort Yukon
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Take
action now to move valuables to higher ground that remained dry
during last years flooding.

Stay tuned to further developments by listening to your local radio,
television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.
