...FLOOD WATCH FOR AN ICE JAM REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues to be possible.

* WHERE...The Yukon River near the Yukon Delta Coast.

* WHEN...Through Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...Ice jams may result in flooding along the Yukon River
  over the Yukon Delta. Low lying areas near Kotlik have potential
  to flood from today through Friday. If an ice jam shifts water
  could rise rapidly.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The Yukon River breakup is pushing across the Yukon Delta
    today.
    Ice has jammed up near Kotlik with high water on the river
    but no flooding was reported. There is still a risk of
    flooding at Kotlik should the ice shift and push water
    towards the town.

  - If you live near or along the Yukon River on the Yukon Delta
  move valuables to higher ground, stay alert and be prepared to
  take action.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

...FLOOD WATCH FOR SNOWMELT REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt is possible.

* WHERE...The Porcupine River at Ft Yukon, including the city of
  Fort Yukon.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  sloughs, swales, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations
  near Fort Yukon. High water will begin move into low-lying areas
  on the east side of Fort Yukon from the middle to the end of week,
  with possible flooding in Fort Yukon developing over the weekend.
  This will be a slow-onset flood, with the water slow to recede as
  well.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - The water levels along the Porcupine River at Old Crow rose
    dramatically last weekend due to heavy snowmelt and remain
    high. This high water is expected to reach Ft. Yukon between
    Thursday and Friday, with water levels peaking at Ft. Yukon
    over the weekend. This high water will gradually fill sloughs
    and swales east of Ft. Yukon late this week and could bring
    flooding into Ft. Yukon this weekend with high water
    continuing into next week.

  - If you live in low lying areas in Fort Yukon stay alert and be
  prepared to take action.

Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding in Fort Yukon
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop. Take
action now to move valuables to higher ground that remained dry
during last years flooding.
