...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHEASTERN CAMDEN AND CURRITUCK COUNTIES...
At 701 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Knotts Island to near Corolla to near Point
Harbor, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
These severe storms will be near...
Grandy, Corolla, Knotts Island, and Point Harbor around 705 PM
EDT.
Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Poplar
Branch, Snowden, Spot, Aydlett, Harbinger, Jarvisburg, Barco,
Coinjock, Powells Point, and Riddle.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for northeastern
North Carolina.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
