...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN TUSCALOOSA...
NORTHERN PICKENS...NORTHEASTERN GREENE AND SOUTHEASTERN LAMAR
COUNTIES THROUGH 545 PM CDT...

At 520 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Ethelsville to near Knoxville. Movement
was northeast at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Tuscaloosa, Northport, Gordo, Reform, Millport, Carrollton, Holt,
Moundville, Coaling, Coker, Kennedy, Ethelsville, McFarland Mall,
Lake Lurleen State Park, Shelton State Community College, Tuscaloosa
Amphitheater, Bryant Denny Stadium, Tuscaloosa Regional Airport,
University Mall, and Jena.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
