.DISCUSSION...Today and tonight...Dry and breezy conditions today
will lead to areas of elevated to near critical fire weather
conditions, especially across the plains. Daytime humidity values
will fall to around 25% across the higher elevations and should
fall to 10-15% across most of the plains. Fuel status at this time
will preclude any need for Red Flag Warnings. Wind gusts of 25-35
mph are likely this afternoon for the lower elevations with 35-45
mph gusts likely for the higher elevations. Smoke dispersal will
be excellent across the region today. A cold front tonight should
bring cooler temperatures. Some light mountain snow showers are
also possible this evening into tonight.
LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Friday through Monday...Fire weather
conditions will improve through the rest of this week into the
weekend, with scattered showers and storms expected to keep things
somewhat moist. Good to excellent smoke dispersal is forecast through
Sunday, with widespread good conditions for Monday.
