CAMERON...SOUTHWESTERN BROOKS AND WESTERN WILLACY COUNTIES THROUGH
1000 PM CDT...

At 913 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles east of Viboras to near Mccook to near
B.l. Garza Middle School to Hidalgo to 18 miles southwest of
Granjero. Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Edinburg, Mission, Pharr, Harlingen, Weslaco, San Juan, Alamo, Donna,
Mercedes, and Raymondville.

This includes the following highways...
 US Highway 83 between mile markers 832 and 850.
 Interstate Highway 69 E between mile markers 26 and 45.
 Interstate Highway 69 C between mile markers 1 and 12.
 US Highway 281 between mile markers 746 and 764.
 US Highway 281 between mile markers 784 and 820.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Brownsville.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for
Deep South Texas.
