Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service State College PA
1011 AM EDT Sat May 25 2024

Skies are mainly clear across Pennsylvania this morning, though a
few thunderstorms are beginning to approach the northwest corner
of the state. Additional storms will fire up across the
Commonwealth this afternoon while the storms from the northwest
move south and east. Some of the storms today will produce heavy
rain, gusty winds, and hail, especially across the western half
where there is a marginal risk of severe thunderstorms in place.
Temperatures will continue to be unseasonably warm with highs in
the upper 70s to mid 80s.

The showers and storms will push to the south and weaken early
tonight. The sky will start to clear out behind the showers and
lead to fog development. Lows tonight will be 55 to 60 degrees in
the north and west, and 60 to 65 in the south and east.

Much of Sunday across the state will be dry and continued warmer
than normal. However, some showers and thunderstorms will pop up
in the afternoon, mainly in the southern part of the state as well
as the Poconos. Expect highs again in the upper 70s to mid 80s.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms will make Memorial Day a wet
one for most of PA. Some of the storms will be capable of
producing damaging wind gusts and hail. Heavy rain is also a
threat, especially for eastern PA Monday into Monday night.
Morning lows will be 60 to 65 while afternoon highs will be mostly
in the 70s. A few southern towns will get to 80 degrees.
