Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
244 PM MDT Wed May 29 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A cluster of thunderstorms is expected to move through areas
mainly along and east of the I-25 corridor this afternoon and
evening. After these storms clear out tonight, we will see drier
air filter into the region Thursday with minimum afternoon
relative humidities ranging from 15 to 25 percent. Some gusty west
winds (25 to 35 mph) will also be possible especially west of the
Laramie Range on Thursday afternoon which will create near
critical fire weather conditions on Thursday. However, the fuels
are not ready so the threat for any red flag warnings is not
expected. We may see more scattered showers and thunderstorms as
we head into Friday afternoon mainly over the Nebraska panhandle,
but it will remain dry over much of Wyoming where gusty winds of
25 to 30 mph can be expected along with 15 to 25 percent humidity
values.
