Search site and General Ely Forecast - A line of scattered showers are currently located southeast of the Ely Airport, with the axis of precipitation oriented from Skibo to the Lake Insula. These showers wil continue to be possible through the evening until around 1100 PM for both the Ely Airport and search area. While lightning was observed earlier this afternoon near Skibo, the potential for lightning occurring near or at the Ely airport this evening is low (15% chance). Lightning is not expected near the search area at this time. Southeast winds this evening behind a lake breeze will be shifting to the north tonight into early Monday morning with patchy dense fog occurring. Additional rain showers will be moving into the Arrowhead tomorrow afternoon, with an isolated thunderstorm possible in the late afternoon. Ely Visibility and Ceilings - VFR ceilings are expected this evening into early tonight. Patchy dense fog in the vicinity of KELO may result in IFR to LIFR visibility late tonight into early Monday morning. LIFR ceilings are expected to accompany any dense fog that develops. Once fog dissipates in the mid morning hours tomorrow, VFR conditions will return. Scattered showers will arrive in the afternoon tomorrow.
