Search site and General Ely Forecast - Skies are continuing to cloud up this evening, as storms are developing over central and eastern North Dakota. Early evening temperatures in the low to mid 70s, with southerly winds with gusts 15 to 20 mph. Thunderstorms over North Dakota will move east overnight to affect the search and Ely areas, likely moving through between midnight and 4 AM. We currently expect it to lose a lot of its strength by the time it moves this far east with main threats being lightning, moderate rainfall, and some breezy winds of 40 to 50 mph. Depending on how storms track some minor flooding/ponding will be possible. Rain to move out of the area fairly quickly Monday morning, though clouds and afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be possible. Ely Visibility and Ceilings - Initial VFR conditions this evening. Conditions begin to deteriorate after midnight as the line of showers and storms enter from the west. Currently expect this line to breach Ely after midnight with ceilings quickly falling to MVFR thereafter. Ceilings and visibilities to lift to VFR by 18z Monday, if not sooner.
