...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN COOK COUNTY THROUGH
445 PM CDT...

At 414 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from Boundary Waters Canoe Area
Wilderness to 8 miles south of Little Saganaga Lake. Movement was
northeast at 55 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Gunflint Lake, Little Saganaga Lake, Brule Lake, Cherokee Lake,
Poplar Lake, Wine Lake, Winchell Lake, North Lake, Sawbill Lake, Long
Island Lake, Alton Lake, Daniels Lake, and Phoebe Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on the water in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, get
out of the water and seek shelter. Remember, lightning can strike
out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to
safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for
northeastern Minnesota.
