Today:

Showers are ongoing early this morning across portions of northern
into central Iowa, as well as over eastern Iowa. Little in the way of
lightning activity has occurred so far early this morning in the
state. Temperatures range from the upper 50s to upper 60s as of 445
AM.

Showers gradually end west to east this morning into this afternoon
with clearing conditions behind. A few storms can`t be ruled out
before activity ends east but severe weather is not expected today.
Highs today will be in the upper 60s east to low 80s west. Winds are
expected to be light, generally under 10 to 15 mph.

Tonight and beyond:

Storm chances return to the forecast early Sunday west, though are
expected to dissipate with time as they near central Iowa. Additional
storms are then possible Saturday afternoon and evening with some
strong to severe storms possible, especially northwest. Gusty winds
are the primary threat with any stronger storms, though locally heavy
rainfall is also possible. High temperatures Sunday will be in the
upper 70s to low 80s.

The new work week will stay active with additional chances for
showers/storms at times on Monday and again Tuesday with highs in the
upper 70s to 80s.
