* Until 615 AM CDT.

* At 517 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
  extending from 4 miles northwest of Big Wall Lake to near
  McCallsburg to near Mingo, moving east at 45 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage
           to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Des Moines, Ames, Ankeny, Marshalltown, Newton, Altoona, Grinnell,
  Pleasant Hill, Webster City, Nevada, Iowa Falls, Hampton, Clarion,
  Eldora, Grundy Center, Toledo, Allison, Carlisle, Bondurant, and
  Eagle Grove.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 35 between mile markers 87 and 178.
 Interstate 80 between mile markers 137 and 168.
 Interstate 235 between mile markers 10 and 14.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
