The National Weather Service in Des Moines  has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Greene County in west central Iowa...
  Webster County in central Iowa...
  Southwestern Wright County in north central Iowa...
  Northwestern Boone County in central Iowa...
  Hamilton County in central Iowa...

* Until 415 PM CDT.

* At 330 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Churdan, or
  13 miles north of Jefferson, moving northeast at 65 mph.

  THIS IS A DESTRUCTIVE STORM!

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Trained weather spotters.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

* Locations impacted include...
  Fort Dodge, Webster City, Eagle Grove, Gowrie, Big Wall Lake,
  Dayton, Stratford, Coalville, Otho, Stanhope, Lehigh, Duncombe,
  Callender, Williams, Harcourt, Paton, Blairsburg, Kamrar, Boxholm,
  and Vincent.

This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 139 and 147.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. This storm may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.

A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for central, north
central and west central Iowa.
