...THE TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHEASTERN POLK COUNTY IS CANCELLED...

The tornadic thunderstorm which prompted the warning has moved out
of the warned area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 AM CDT for
central Iowa.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 600 AM CDT FOR
SOUTHEASTERN STORY...SOUTHWESTERN MARSHALL AND NORTHERN JASPER
COUNTIES...

At 528 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Baxter, or 14 miles northwest of Newton, moving
northeast at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
         shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
         to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree damage is
         likely.

This dangerous storm will be near...
  Melbourne and Rhodes around 535 AM CDT.
  Haverhill around 540 AM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Collins, Rhodes, Mingo, Laurel, Lambs Grove, Valeria, Haverhill,
Melbourne, and Rock Creek State Park.

This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 151 and 163.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
