...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of Linn, southwestern
Dubuque, northwestern Jones and north central Johnson Counties
through 400 AM CDT...

At 321 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Ely, or 8 miles southeast of Cedar Rapids, moving northeast at 50
mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
         around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects
         is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Cedar Rapids, Anamosa, Marion, Hiawatha, Mount Vernon, Monticello,
Robins, Lisbon, Fairfax, Solon, Ely, Central City, Springville,
Shueyville, Bertram, Martelle, Prairieburg, Lake Macbride State Park,
Waubeek, and Stone City.

This includes Interstate 380 between mile markers 10 and 25.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from
flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforecement.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
