.DISCUSSION...Dry weather with hotter interior temperatures
are forecast through the end of the week as a broad upper
level ridge remains over the area. Temperatures of 100F
and hotter are expected for portions of Lake, Mendocino,
Trinity and perhaps northeast Humboldt counties Wednesday
and Thursday. With these hot temperatures, RH`s below 20
percent are anticipated. Breezy west to northwesterly winds
are forecast each afternoon through Thursday. For areas
near the coast, gusty north-northwest winds are forecast
over the coastal headlands and exposed ridges of the King
Range tonight and Wednesday. The interior heat coupled with
mid level moisture may yield an isolated thunderstorm with
gusty outflow winds Thursday afternoon/evening, primarily
over the mountains of northeast Trinity county. Above normal
interior heat will wane over the weekend, and then most likely
return early next week.
