.DISCUSSION...
Critical to extremely critical fire conditions are expected today,
especially for the Sacramento and Capitan Mountain Ranges. Min RH
values will drop well into the single digits this afternoon. Winds
are also expected to top out around 20 to 30 MPH with direction
generally from the west or southwest. Gust as high as 60 MPH are
possible in the Sacramento and Captain Mountains with 40 to 50 MPH
gusts expected elsewhere. Venting today will be excellent with
smoke transport to the east to northeast. This very dry air mass
will remain in place for the remainder of the period, but winds
will be much lighter, topping out around 10 to 15 MPH each
afternoon.
