...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Greene,
northwestern Taliaferro, Wilkes and southeastern Oglethorpe Counties
through 1045 AM EDT...

At 1008 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was near Philomath, or 11 miles
west of Washington, moving east at 65 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, frequent cloud to ground lightning and
         heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
         light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
         street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Locations impacted include...
Washington, Tignall, Rayle, Jacksons Crossroads, Mallorysville,
Delhi, Lundberg, Metasville, Daniel Springs, Floral Hill, Holliday
Park, Aonia, Newtown, Danburg, Rocky Creek Fire Dept., Celeste,
Lyneville, Philomath, Carters Grove, and Ficklin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Motorists
should slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 PM EDT for
northeastern and east central Georgia.
