Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

As of 4 AM MDT (5 AM CDT), temperatures ranged from 37 degrees in
Yuma to 51 degrees in Hill City and McCook. Winds were out of the
west at around 5 to 10 mph. Showers and storms which brought rain
and a few rumbles of thunder to the area during the afternoon and
evening moved east out of the area overnight.

OUTLOOK... Mostly sunny skies and dry conditions today will have
afternoon highs climbing into the upper 60s to middle 70s followed
by overnight lows falling into the 40s to middle 50s. A dryline is
forecast to set up on Thursday roughly between Highway 25 and
Highway 27; west of the dryline will experience elevated fire
weather conditions while along the dryline scattered thunderstorms
may develop and subsequently track eastward, possibly becoming
severe. High temperatures are forecast in the 80s followed by
overnight low temperatures of 40 to 50 degrees. A frontal passage
will occur Thursday evening, bringing potential for additional
storm development and gusty northwest winds.
