Regional Weather Summary for the High Plains

The severe storms which produced large hail and damaging winds
during the evening and overnight hours across northwest portions
of the area, including Yuma county in Colorado and Dundy,
Hitchcock counties in Nebraska have since moved east out of the
area. As of 4 AM MDT (5 AM CDT), temperatures ranged from 43
degrees in Yuma, Colorado to 58 degrees in Hill City, Kansas.
Winds are northerly at around 15 to 25 mph sustained with gusts in
the 20 to 35 mph range. Additional shower and storm activity is
moving eastward into western portions of the area.

OUTLOOK... This afternoon will see highs topping out only in the
60 to lower 70 degree range under a partly cloudy sky. Storms are
anticipated to develop again this afternoon, moving eastward
across the area. Overnight lows fall into the middle 30s to mid-
upper 40s. Going into Wednesday, high temperatures climb into the
upper 60s to middle 70s under mostly sunny skies before a return
of shower/storm chances of up to approx. 25 to 35 percent during
the evening hours. Overnight lows are forecast to fall into the
low 40s to low 50s. Temperatures warm into the 80s on Thursday
before a cold front moves through Thursday night. Daily shower/storm
chances are forecast to continue into the weekend and early week.
