...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 PM
MDT/800 PM CDT/ FOR EASTERN CHEYENNE...NORTHWESTERN THOMAS...RAWLINS
AND NORTHEASTERN SHERMAN COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN KANSAS...WESTERN
RED WILLOW...HITCHCOCK AND SOUTHEASTERN DUNDY COUNTIES IN
SOUTHWESTERN NEBRASKA...

At 648 PM MDT/748 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a
line extending from 8 miles north of McCook to 11 miles southeast of
Stratton to 10 miles south of McDonald, moving east at 45 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
         roofs, siding, and trees.

These severe storms will be near...
  McCook and Atwood around 755 PM CDT.
  Ludell around 800 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include
Blakeman, Beardsley, Wheeler, and Max.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Goodland.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
