Isolated, shallow flows over roadways is possible. A few flood-prone, low-water crossings may become impassible. A small culvert washout or two is possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 849 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to a stationary thunderstorm between Burnsville and Celo. The storm has produced 1-3 inches of rainfall in less than 90 minutes. Heavy rain rates are ongoing along and near US 19 E just east of Burnville. These heavy rain rates are likely causing significant rises on small streams that feed Little Crabtree Creek, including Allen Branch near Allen Branch Rd, Georges Fork near Georges Fork Rd, Bearwallow Branch near Bearwallow Branch Rd, and Bolens Creek near Bolens Creek Rd. Significant rises are also expected on small streams feeding the Cane River including Bee Branch near Bee Branch Rd. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will exacerbate ongoing flooding or cause new areas of flooding to develop. If storm-total rainfall amounts exceed 3-4 inches over the next 30-90 minutes, more significant flooding may develop and a Flash Flood Warning may be issued. Caution is advised near any stream or other vulnerable area. Seek higher ground immediately if streams start to rise. Please have a plan in place should flash flooding develop and do not hesitate to act. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Burnsville, Micaville and Celo. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks. && LAT...LON 3587 8231 3591 8233 3592 8230 3592 8222 3591 8218 3585 8216 3584 8224 3583 8227 $$ JMP
