...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT SOUTHWESTERN MECKLENBURG AND
NORTHEASTERN YORK COUNTIES THROUGH 515 PM EDT...

At 450 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4
miles north of Rock Hill, or near Tega Cay, moving north at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Pineville, Tega Cay, Newport, Steele Creek,
Carowinds, Lake Wylie, Lesslie, and Southwest Charlotte.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

If on or near Lake Wylie, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
