...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTH CENTRAL BUNCOMBE AND
CENTRAL YANCEY COUNTIES THROUGH 445 PM EDT...

At 420 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 11
miles southwest of Burnsville, moving northeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Burnsville, Mount Mitchell State Park, Green Mountain, Barnardsville,
Celo, and Micaville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
western North Carolina.
