...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN HENDERSON...EAST
CENTRAL HAYWOOD AND SOUTHWESTERN BUNCOMBE COUNTIES THROUGH 800 PM
EDT...

At 715 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12
miles west of Downtown Asheville, or 4 miles northeast of Canton,
moving east at 30 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Downtown Asheville, East Asheville, Arden, West Asheville, North
Asheville, Woodfin, Fletcher, Canton, Weaverville, and Biltmore
Forest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM EDT for
western North Carolina. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains in
effect until 1100 PM EDT for western North Carolina.
