...ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...

In 1988, severe thunderstorms in Texas and Oklahoma
produced hail as large as softballs near Stillwater
Oklahoma and in Jones County of North Central Texas.
Baseball sized hail and 70 mph winds caused an estimated
$100 million damage in Abilene Texas.  In 1969, Wichita
chilled out with a temperature of 43 degrees, setting the
record low for the month of June.
