Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Wichita KS
451 PM CDT Sat May 25 2024

Temperatures this afternoon ranged from the middle 70s across
northern Nebraska to the upper 80s across northern Oklahoma and
Arkansas. Storms were developing across portions of the Oklahoma and
Texas Panhandle as a potent system made its way across the High
Plains late this afternoon. Isolated to widely scattered strong to
severe storms are anticipated to continue to develop tonight around
sunset and make their way into portions of southern Kansas and
Oklahoma. The main concerns with these storms will continue to be
large hail and damaging winds, though a few strong tornadoes will be
possible as well. These are expected to push quickly to the east and
increase in coverage throughout the overnight hours as the storms
approach eastern Kansas and Missouri. Lows tonight will range from
the upper 40s across northern Nebraska to the upper 60s across the
Red River Valley and Ozark Plateau.

These storms will quickly exit the region by Sunday, giving way to
clearing skies across the area. Afternoon temperatures will range
from the lower 70s across northern Nebraska and Iowa to the lower
90s across Oklahoma.
