...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM OVER THE WATERS...

The areas affected include...
  Waters from Cape Fear NC to Little River Inlet SC from 20 to 40
  nm...
  Waters from Surf City to Cape Fear NC from 20 to 40 nm...

At 557 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots and small hail. This
thunderstorm was located near Frying Pan Shoals Light Tower, moving
northeast at 30 knots.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners can expect gusty winds to around 30 knots, locally higher
waves, and lightning strikes. Boaters should seek safe harbor
immediately until this storm passes. If caught on the open water,
prepare for deteriorating conditions. Make sure you and your crew are
wearing properly fitted life jackets.

This strong thunderstorm will likely produce winds to around 30
knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine
warning may eventually be required if this storm intensifies.
Boaters should consider heading for shore before this strong
thunderstorm arrives.
